BARAMULLA: Under the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police in Baramulla organised a series of awareness programmes and outreach activities at Tangmarg and Chakloo in collaboration with educational institutions to educate youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free society.

At Tangmarg, Police in collaboration with Government Degree College Tangmarg organised an awareness programme aimed at sensitising students and youth about the serious social and health consequences of substance abuse. As part of the programme, an annual road race was also conducted with enthusiastic participation from students and local youth to encourage healthy and positive activities among young people while spreading the message of staying away from drugs.

Meanwhile, at Government Boys High School Chakloo, Police organised a yoga session, awareness programme and rally in collaboration with the school administration. The programme witnessed active participation from students, teachers, officials from the Health Department and the BDO Nadihal. The yoga session focused on promoting physical and mental well-being, followed by an interactive awareness programme highlighting the adverse impact of drug abuse on individuals, families and society.

Speakers during both programmes emphasized the importance of collective efforts by educational institutions, police, parents and society in eradicating the menace of drugs. Students were encouraged to stay away from substance abuse and act as ambassadors of awareness within their communities. An awareness rally was also organised in and around Chakloo carrying messages promoting a drug-free society and encouraging youth participation in building a healthy and progressive nation.

J&K Police reiterated its commitment towards the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and stated that such community-oriented awareness and outreach programmes will continue across the district to safeguard the future of the youth and build a safer, drug-free society.
