He commended the institute's rapid academic and research growth, noting its AMBA and EFMD accreditations, expanding global academic partnerships and significant rise in research output, from just two published papers in 2017 to nearly 350 in the current year.
Appreciating the decade of sustained efforts under the leadership of Director Prof. B. S. Sahay, the faculty, and the Board of Governors, he observed that IIM Jammu’s trajectory has become an inspiring model for other business schools. “The achievements of IIM Jammu over the past decade, along with its distinctive initiatives, are emerging as an inspiring example and a role model for other business schools. I am certain that, in the years ahead, these achievements will be remembered as a benchmark and an ideal that others will seek to emulate,” the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor said.

He said IIM Jammu now stands at a defining moment where the choices made over the next decade will shape its identity and legacy for generations to come.
Outlining his vision for the Institute’s next phase of growth, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor called for four key priorities: building a distinctive academic identity rooted in Indian enterprise and the unique realities of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh; strengthening experiential learning through real-world projects and engagement with local businesses and entrepreneurship; pursuing high-impact research focused on border economies, sustainable development and frontier entrepreneurship; and viewing placements as an instrument of nation-building by nurturing graduates who go on to transform organizations, build enterprises, and contribute meaningfully to India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.He emphasized that management education must extend beyond the lecture hall, as the real test of leadership unfolds in boardrooms, markets and society, where challenges are complex, information is incomplete, and solutions cannot be found in textbooks alone.
