DODA: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh organised a special event as part of the ongoing 150th-anniversary celebrations of India’s iconic national song. The programme, held under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the College, featured the screening of a short film on Vande Mataram and Mass recitation of the National Song.

The short film highlighted the historical significance of Vande Mataram, showcasing its powerful role in India’s freedom struggle and its evolution as a symbol of national unity. The initiative forms an important component of the year-long celebration dedicated to honouring the legacy, message and cultural impact of the national song.

Later, a mass recitation of Vande Mataram was conducted, with students participating enthusiastically. Their spirited recitation filled the campus with an atmosphere of national pride, unity and emotional reverence. The event also encouraged students to reflect upon the values of sacrifice, patriotism and responsibility that the song embodies.
