SRINAGAR: Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar today organized an awareness programme titled “Safe Women, Strong Society” in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority to promote women’s safety, empowerment and legal awareness.

The programme was organized under the aegis of the Internal Complaints Committee (POSH Act) of the college with the objective of creating awareness regarding women’s rights, legal safeguards and the collective responsibility of society in ensuring a safe and equitable environment for women.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof. Masood Ahmad, highlighted the importance of building a society based on dignity, equality and mutual respect. He stressed the need for educational institutions to play an active role in sensitizing students about issues related to women’s safety and empowerment.
