KUPWARA: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, the Food Safety Team, led by the Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Kupwara, today carried out an extensive inspection drive across various restaurants in Kupwara town.  The special drive aimed to assess the hygiene standards, cleanliness protocols, and overall quality of food being served to the public.

During the inspection, the team thoroughly examined kitchen areas, storage facilities, food preparation practices, and waste disposal systems. Restaurant owners and staff were sensitized about the importance of maintaining strict hygiene standards to ensure public health and safety. The Food Safety Team directed all restaurant operators to strictly adhere to the latest government-issued food safety guidelines.

To facilitate compliance, the updated guidelines were also shared with restaurant owners for their immediate reference and implementation. The Assistant Commissioner reaffirmed that such inspection drives will continue in the coming days in main markets of district Kupwara to uphold food safety standards across the district. He urged all food business operators to maintain transparency, follow best practices in food handling, and prioritize consumer safety.
