BANDIPORA: The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) conducted the second phase of community fire-fighting training at Bagtor, aimed at strengthening local preparedness and enhancing first-response capability among residents. The initiative focused on empowering communities through basic fire-safety knowledge and hands-on training. The programme sought to equip local residents with essential skills in fire prevention, safe handling of fire-fighting tools, and effective response strategies during emergency situations.

A dedicated team of Fire & Emergency Services officials demonstrated practical fire-fighting techniques, explained key safety protocols, and supervised live drills involving community volunteers. Participants were trained to operate basic equipment and respond swiftly and confidently in the event of a fire incident. The department informed that similar capacity-building programmes would continue in other vulnerable areas as well, with an aim to promote community resilience, reduce fire risks, and ensure a more effective and coordinated response during emergencies.
