- A call for unity and love in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: In a poignant address at the recent spiritual gathering organized by Mufti Mian Adil Noorani at the century-old iconic Noor Bagh area, Dr. Khwaja Farooq Renzushah championed the timeless values of love and communal unity embodied by the Great Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the revered figures of Kashmiri spirituality in Kashmir.
Nestled in the heart of Shahar-e-Khass, Noor Bagh, synonymous with spiritual enlightenment, was revitalized in the early 1950s by Jenab Qasim Shah Bukhari. His commitment to the Idara Hanafia emerged as a beacon of mutual love, countering adverse radical ideologies that threatened the fabric of Kashmiri society. Today, Mufti Mian Adil Noorani continues this noble legacy, embodying the pure spiritual ideologies of Tasawuf and Hanafiyat introduced by Hazrat Bulbul Shah and Hazrat Shah Hamdan.
At this significant gathering, attended by esteemed spiritual personalities and ardent followers of Kashmiri saints, Dr. Renzushah emphasized the urgency of reviving the deep-rooted ideology of mutual love and harmony that has flourished in Kashmir for centuries.
Dr. Renzushah spoke of Hazrat Bulbul Shah, whose lineage traces back to Hazrat Abdul Rahman Abu Musalim Khurasani, Governor of then ancient Khurasan, during the era of Imam Abu Hanifa (R.T.). Hazrat Bulbul Shah Abdul Rahman received spiritual command in 1321 A.D. to search Shahar-e-Khass and light the Noor there. With his blessings, Sultan Sader-ud-Deen Renchanshah and Queen Begum Sultana Kota Rani safeguarded Kashmir from the devastating onslaught of Mongol forces. The legacy of such Renaissance continues to inspire Kashmiri hearts, where Kashmiri society was shaped for centuries as a tolerant society glorified with mutual love.
Dr. Farooq Renzushah further hailed the contributions of the great Awaliya Shah Hamdan, who, through his teachings, propagated the message of Tasawuf in Kashmir on the same lines as taught by Bulbul Shah. Accordingly, all Awaliyas and saints of Kashmir triumphantly fostered a spirit of love among Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists alike in Kashmir, said Mr. Farooq.
Dr. Farooq Renzushah said, "Our devotion to the Great Prophet (SAW) serves as a cornerstone for unity, encapsulating the essence of āLakum Deenakum waliya Deen,ā which teaches us to respect all faiths while holding true to our own," he stated. In a nod to the recent revival of Tasawuf ideology of love and its sincere efforts, Dr. Renzushah expressed gratitude to the police and civil administration for their support during the longest Eid-e-Milad procession a few days before up to Hazrat Ali Aali A.S. mosque at Eidgah. "Our disciplined and peaceful march was a testament to our commitment to spirituality and unity," he remarked, adding that radical groups opposing Eid-e-Milad are against the message of love in which people of all sects and faiths have been joining in Kashmir for centuries, glorifying our valley as an ideal society of composite culture.
He said mutual participation of different people of different faiths in each otherās festivities helps understanding that defines the true path to spiritual fulfillment. He said at present Kashmir stands at a crossroads, Dr. Khwaja Farooq Renzushah's call for collective love and unity resonates powerfully, reminding us of the enduring legacy of our spiritual forebears.
