SAMBA: Poshan Project Samba today organised a Capacity Building training programme with the objective of strengthening the knowledge, functional capacity and digital skills of field functionaries for effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and POSHAN initiatives. The event was conducted under the supervision of District Programme Officer Rajesh Lakhan.

A dedicated team from the Mission Directorate, Poshan, J&K led by Deputy Director and State Coordinator, PMMVY, J&K Dr. Malvika Sharma conducted the training and provided detailed guidance to the participants. The team also included Idrees Wani, Supervisor and Abhay Pal Bhatti, MTS.

More than 300 Anganwadi Workers and Supervisors participated in the training programme. The participants were sensitized and trained on various aspects of PMMVY and POSHAN including scheme provisions, beneficiary registration, verification procedures, digital processes, portal-related activities, documentation and effective implementation at the grassroots level.

The interactive sessions provided an opportunity to the field functionaries to clarify their queries and gain practical knowledge regarding the implementation of the schemes. Special emphasis was laid on improving the quality and efficiency of services being delivered to beneficiaries through the Anganwadi system.

The programme concluded with a commitment from the participating AWWs and Supervisors to ensure effective implementation of PMMVY & POSHAN and timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan.IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity.
