JAMMU: Senior BJP leader Raman Suri has expressed immense joy and pride over the selection of Jammu Kashmir's fast bowling sensation Aqib Nabi in the Indian Test cricket team, describing it as a historic moment for the Union Territory (UT) and an inspiration for thousands of aspiring sportspersons.
Congratulating the young cricketer, Suri said that Aqib's remarkable journey from representing Jammu Kashmir in domestic cricket since 2018 to earning a place in the national test squad is a shining example of dedication, discipline and unwavering commitment. "His rise from the cricket grounds of Baramulla to wearing the Indian cap is nothing short of extraordinary and has filled every resident of Jammu Kashmir with pride," he said.
Raman Suri highlighted that Aqib has claimed around 60 wickets in first-class cricket and made a strong impact in the Ranji Trophy, where he emerged as one of the finest fast bowlers in the country.
