AWANTIPORA: Continuing the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, multiple anti-narcotics and awareness initiatives were carried out across PD Awantipora to strengthen efforts against drug abuse and illegal drug activities.

An Anti-Drug Rally was organized in Khrew under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, in which students from various schools actively participated. The rally aimed to spread awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage youth participation in building a drug free society. Meanwhile, a traffic enforcement drive was also conducted in Khrew during which traffic violators were fined on the spot for violating traffic regulations.

As part of anti-narcotics efforts, Narco raids were conducted in the areas of Sharshalli and Chersoo to curb drug peddling and identify individuals involved in narcotics related activities.

Further intensifying enforcement under the campaign, inspections of medical shops were conducted in Tral. During checking, one establishment namely Medikilif Chemists and Druggists, owned by Mohammad Amin Baba son of Gh. Mohd. Baba resident of Tral, was found operating and selling medicines without a valid drug license. After completion of due legal formalities, the establishment was sealed by the Drug Control Department in coordination with Police.

Similarly, a medical shop located at Patalbagh belonging to Fayaz Ahmad Bhat son of Gh. Mohd. Bhat resident of Patalbagh was also sealed jointly by the Drug Inspector Pampore and Police for selling prescription drugs without a valid license.

These initiatives reflect the continued commitment of Police and allied departments towards creating a drug free society and ensuring strict action against violations under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.
