UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting with officers of stakeholder departments to review the status and progress of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS)  in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Jugal Kishore, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and other district officers.

The DC directed the concerned departments to expedite the registration of business eligible establishments units and candidates on the NAPS portal and achieve the set targets by September 20, 2026, through intensive mobilisation, awareness and registration drives. He stressed close coordination with and other stakeholders for effective implementation of the scheme.

The General Manager DIC was directed to ensure registration of all Industrial units/Establishments including MSMEs having a strength of minimum 04 employees, while Labour Department was directed to complete registration of all registered establishments under Shops & Establishment Act 1966 like Petrol Pumps, Hotels, Restaurants, Automobile Agencies, Banking Institutions, Brick Kilns etc. having a strength of minimum 04 employees in the unit/establishment.

The ADDC was designated as the Nodal Officer for NAPS implementation in the district. He was directed to coordinate with concerned departments and District Heads, ensure registration of eligible establishments and candidates/students within the stipulated timeline and regularly monitor and share the progress.
