MUMBAI: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism showcased the Union Territory’s diverse tourism portfolio, emerging destinations, unique travel experiences and expanding business opportunities during a high-profile B2B Networking Evening organised as part of IITM Mumbai–2026 at Club Mumbai.

The comprehensive presentation was delivered by Waseem Raja, Joint Director Tourism, Kashmir, and Vivek Puri, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Surinsar Mansar Development Authority. The officers highlighted the vast and diverse tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasising its growing prominence and appeal as a preferred destination for domestic and international travellers.

The B2B Networking Evening provided a dynamic platform for meaningful business-to-business engagement and interaction among tourism professionals, industry representatives and stakeholders. Representatives from Jammu and Kashmir Tourism, along with other tourism stakeholders, showcased the Union Territory’s extensive range of tourism products, destinations, attractions and experiential offerings, highlighting the immense diversity of opportunities available across the region.

During the presentation, particular emphasis was laid on both the established tourist destinations and lesser-explored, offbeat locations of Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting the region’s potential to cater to diverse traveller preferences and emerging tourism trends. The officers also highlighted the major tourism events recently organised in the Union Territory, including the successful conduct of the Kashmir Marathon.

The Kashmir Marathon was projected as a significant addition to Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism calendar, demonstrating the potential of large-scale sporting events to strengthen destination branding, attract visitors and enhance the Union Territory’s visibility and positioning among travel trade professionals and tourists.

The presentation evoked considerable interest among members of the travel trade fraternity, who actively participated in the interaction by raising queries, sharing suggestions and offering valuable inputs regarding the tourism potential and promotional prospects of Jammu and Kashmir. The visiting J&K Tourism officials responded to the queries and provided detailed insights into the wide spectrum of tourism experiences, emerging destinations, investment prospects and business opportunities available across the Union Territory.

The B2B networking engagement emerged as an important platform for strengthening institutional and industry-level engagement with the travel trade, fostering meaningful business connections and exploring new avenues for collaboration, strategic partnerships and destination promotion.

The initiative also provided an opportunity to position Jammu and Kashmir more prominently in key tourism markets, while encouraging greater participation from travel industry stakeholders in promoting the Union Territory’s diverse tourism offerings and expanding its presence in the national and international tourism landscape.
