SRINAGAR: Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar on Thursday assumed office, pledging focused, time-bound redressal of public grievances, improved administrative efficiency and stronger coordination among government departments to ensure responsive and accountable governance.

Soon after assuming charge, Sagar interacted with several deputations representing different sections of society, who approached him with a range of public grievances, developmental concerns and administrative issues. The representatives highlighted problems requiring the intervention of the concerned departments and sought appropriate measures to ensure their early resolution.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputations and took note of the issues raised during the interactions. He assured them that the government remained committed to addressing genuine public grievances and ensuring that people's concerns received due attention from the relevant authorities.

Emphasising the importance of accessible and responsive governance, Sagar said regular interaction with citizens was essential to understanding challenges at the grassroots level and identifying practical solutions. He reiterated that the government was focused on strengthening public service delivery, improving administrative efficiency and ensuring that people did not face unnecessary difficulties in accessing essential services.

The Minister stressed the need for effective coordination among government departments to facilitate the timely resolution of public issues. He said good governance required a proactive administrative approach, accountability at every level and sustained engagement with citizens to ensure that their concerns were addressed fairly and transparently.

Sagar underscored the importance of ensuring that government departments functioned efficiently and remained responsive to public needs and expectations. He said the issues brought to his attention by the deputations would be taken up with the concerned authorities for examination and appropriate action wherever necessary.

Reiterating the government's commitment to public welfare, the Minister assured the representatives that genuine grievances would receive due consideration. He emphasised that constructive engagement between the government and the public would remain an important mechanism for identifying challenges, resolving complaints and strengthening public confidence in the administration.

Sagar also reaffirmed his commitment to discharging his official responsibilities with dedication and sincerity, with particular emphasis on public welfare, effective governance and the timely redressal of people's problems.

The interactions underscored the government's emphasis on maintaining direct communication with citizens and addressing public grievances through appropriate administrative mechanisms, with a focus on responsiveness, accountability and the timely resolution of issues raised by the public.
