SRINAGAR: Police in Srinagar organised a “Unity Run” along Boulevard Road, Srinagar, in connection with Police Commemoration Day–2026, to pay heartfelt tribute to the brave Police martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The event was flagged off by the SHO Police Station Nishat and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of school students, who displayed remarkable patriotic fervour, discipline and sportsmanship.

At the conclusion of the event, the participants securing first, second and third positions were felicitated with trophies in recognition of their outstanding performance. Refreshments were also distributed among all participants as a gesture of encouragement and appreciation.

While interacting with the participants, the importance of unity, discipline, physical fitness and community participation was highlighted. The younger generation was encouraged to stay away from negative influences, particularly drug abuse, and to channel their energy towards constructive activities, sports and nation-building.

The event underscored the significance of remembering the supreme sacrifices of police martyrs while strengthening police-public relations and promoting the values of peace, harmony and collective responsibility.

The Unity Run concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the ideals of sacrifice, service, courage and unity, while inspiring the younger generation to contribute towards a peaceful, healthy and progressive society.
