KISHTWAR: Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan 2.0: Catch the Rain Campaign meeting was today held under the Chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Vinod Kumar Behnal. The ADDC emphasized the importance of water conservation and the need for a coordinated and mission-mode approach for effective implementation of the campaign.

The current status of water conservation measures, availability of data and departmental efforts were reviewed in detail. The ADDC stressed the importance of maintaining accurate and updated records to ensure proper planning and monitoring. He directed all concerned departments to undertake geo-tagging of all water sources under their respective jurisdictions, including ponds, lakes, wells, check dams and other such structures. Departments shall ensure that the data is complete, accurate and updated, he added.

The geo-tagged data shall be shared among all concerned departments to ensure uniformity, avoid duplication and enable proper preservation and utilization of the data. All departments were directed to geo-tag the rainwater harvesting structures constructed by them. He stressed on timely submission of data so that it can be uploaded on the designated portal of Jal Shakti Abhiyan without delay.

The chair emphasized the importance of Jan Bhagidari (public participation) and directed all departments to undertake awareness campaigns. Campaigns shall focus on educating the public about the importance and benefits of rainwater harvesting and water conservation. The meeting was attended by ACP Kishtwar Neeraj Sharma, DFO Marwah, Vishal Chaudhary, CAO Kishtwar Kushal Chandel, ExEn Jal Shakti Kishtwar Rohit Wadera besides other officers and concerned staff.
