JAMMU: The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Central University of Jammu, successfully organized its alumni meet titled “MILAP – 2026” at the Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium. The event brought together alumni, faculty members, and students on a common platform to reconnect, share experiences, and celebrate their academic journey.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the national song, setting a formal and respectful tone for the event. Prof. Aswini Kumar Nanda, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, delivered the inaugural and welcome address, warmly greeting all the guests and participants.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Amit Sharma, IAS, Director of Census Operations, Jammu & Kashmir, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He was formally welcomed along with other distinguished guests including Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar of the University and other faculty members

Several faculty members addressed the gathering. They highlighted the importance of alumni engagement and the role of such interactions in strengthening academic and professional networks.

A vibrant cultural programme added energy and enthusiasm to the event, showcasing the talents of students. This was followed by an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, who shared valuable insights and encouraged students to contribute meaningfully to society.

One of the most engaging parts of the programme was the alumni experience-sharing session, where former students reflected on their journeys and shared their achievements and challenges. The programme concluded with an address by Prof. Yashwant Singh, followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest and other dignitaries as a token of appreciation. Dr. Mohit Sharma delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success.
