KATRA: Dr. Ram Prakash, Associate Professor and Head, School of Physics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra delivered an invited lecture on “Rare- Earth Activated Nanophosphors: Synthesis, Spectroscopy, and Lighting Applications” in international conference on Advances in Multifunctional Materials (ICRAMMD-2026) held at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Varanasi.

The conference witnessed the participation of nearly 300 delegates from India and abroad. Dr. Ram Prakash discussed Rare- Earth Activated Nanophosphors: Synthesis, Spectroscopy, and Lighting Applications. Dr. Prakash presented a comprehensive overview of recent research on the synthesis, structural characterization, and spectroscopic investigations of Eu³⁺, Dy³⁺, and Sm³⁺ activated phosphor materials, with emphasis on their down-conversion luminescence behavior and color tunability.

He highlighted the potential of these phosphor systems for application in near- UV pumped warm white LEDs and advanced photonic devices. The lecture was well received by the participants. Dr. Ram Prakash thanked Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor for allowing and encouraging him to attend the said conference.
