KASTIGARH: The Red Ribbon Club of Government Dy SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College- Kastigarh today organized an awareness lecture and pledge ceremony under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with the objective of spreading awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, disciplined and responsible life.

 The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, who emphasized the collective responsibility of educational institutions in shaping a drug-free and morally strong society.

The programme was supervised by Nodal Officer of the Red Ribbon Club Dr. Sumit Kotwal and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and staff of the college. On the occasion, Dr. Anupam Lata, HoD Psychology, delivered an informative and motivational lecture highlighting the physical, psychological, social and economic consequences of substance abuse. She stressed the importance of awareness, counselling and community support in preventing addiction among youth and encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyles, positive thinking and constructive activities.

A pledge ceremony was also organized during the programme in which Dr. Arjun Singh, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, administered the anti-drug pledge to the participants. Students and staff members pledged to stay away from drugs and to actively contribute towards creating awareness against substance abuse in society. The speakers also highlighted the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and urged students to become ambassadors of social change by spreading the message of a drug-free India in their communities.

The event concluded with an interactive session where students shared their views on the growing menace of drug addiction and discussed the role of youth in promoting social harmony and healthy living.
