KATHUA: As part of the ongoing Janbhagidari Week being observed from May 18 to 25, 2026, the district administration Kathua today organised a series of Janbhagidari Camps for tribal communities in different parts of the district Kathua. At Lowing village, the camp was presided over by CDPO Bani, Aditya Krishan Dogra, witnessing enthusiastic participation from locals, particularly members of the tribal community.
To facilitate awareness and service delivery, several government departments established dedicated stalls at the venue. Officials interacted with the participants and disseminated information regarding schemes and programmes related to health, education, social welfare, employment generation, agriculture, rural development and other citizen-centric services. Beneficiaries were also guided on availing entitlements under different government schemes.
A Jan Sunwai was also conducted at the camp. The departmental representatives listened to public grievances and provided on-the-spot guidance for redressal of the same. Awareness activities under the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan were also organised to educate the participants about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of a drug-free society.
The outreach programme aimed at strengthening last-mile service delivery, enhancing awareness about government initiatives and ensuring inclusive development by extending essential services to tribal populations at their doorstep. The participants appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of organising such camps in remote and underserved areas to improve access to government services and welfare programmes.
As per the schedule of Janbhagidari Week, similar outreach camps were organised at Panchayat Kanthal in Block Bani and Panchayats Bari, Bhakoga, Bhullari, Chak Surjan, Dullangal and Surjan in Block Duggan today.
