KULGAM: As part of the ongoing 100-day campaign under the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a traders’ meeting was organized today at Kulgam by the District Administration to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to seek active cooperation from the business community in building a drug-free society.

The meeting was chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam,Viqar Ahmed Giri who interacted with members of the Traders Federation, market representatives, and other stakeholders.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC highlighted the growing threat of substance abuse, particularly among the youth, and stressed the collective responsibility of all sections of society in combating the menace. He urged traders and shopkeepers to play a proactive role in spreading awareness and discouraging activities that may contribute to drug abuse.

The ADC emphasized that the success of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan depends on active public participation and coordinated efforts from all stakeholders. He called upon the trading community to extend full support to the administration in promoting awareness and fostering a healthy, drug-free environment across the district.

During the meeting, participants also shared their views and assured full cooperation with the District Administration in strengthening the anti-drug campaign at the grassroots level. The programme concluded with a collective pledge to work together towards achieving a drug-free society.
