REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting to review preparations for the nationwide IEC campaign “Jan Bhagidaari–Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle”, scheduled to be conducted from May 18 to May 25, 2026, to ensure effective outreach of welfare schemes in remote tribal areas of the district.
The meeting reviewed the action plan for organising awareness and beneficiary saturation camps aimed at strengthening last-mile delivery of government welfare schemes to tribal communities residing in far-flung and underserved areas.
Emphasising saturation of welfare schemes, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out. He called for close inter-departmental coordination and extensive awareness drives, field outreach programmes and special camps in tribal villages.
The meeting discussed identification of unregistered tribal families and individuals, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under various welfare schemes and measures to strengthen delivery of government services in remote locations.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned Common Service Centre officials to identify uncovered families and facilitate delivery of e-services in inaccessible areas. He also instructed officers to ensure coverage of all eligible tribal families under Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) to extend health insurance benefits.
Reviewing education-related initiatives, he directed the concerned officers to provide pending Scheduled Tribe category and domicile certificates to eligible students on priority to facilitate access to scholarships and other educational benefits.
The meeting also reviewed financial inclusion activities planned under the campaign. The Deputy Commissioner directed officials of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and the National Rural Livelihood Mission to coordinate with Bank Mitras for opening Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts, Aadhaar seeding, Direct Benefit Transfer awareness and facilitation of Kisan Credit Card support for eligible beneficiaries. He further instructed officers to ensure registration of eligible tribal beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana social security schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed district and sectoral officers to undertake regular field visits and maintain close monitoring of campaign activities. He stressed the need for wide publicity of welfare schemes through all available communication channels so that people living in remote areas can avail benefits without difficulty.
He also underscored the importance of timely submission of progress reports and called upon departments to adopt a mission-mode approach for successful implementation of the campaign across the district.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Krishan Lal, Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development Mukesh Sharma, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer and other district and sectoral officers.
