In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

BARAMULLA: As part of its efforts to promote cyber awareness and responsible use of technology, Police in Baramulla organised a cyber security awareness lecture at Iqra Nursing College, Kitchama, to sensitise students and staff about online safety, emerging cyber threats and preventive measures.

During the session, participants were educated about various cybercrimes, including online frauds, phishing, digital arrest scams and identity theft. The importance of protecting digital privacy, understanding digital footprints and using social media responsibly was also highlighted.

Students and staff were encouraged to use digital tools positively for learning, skill development and gaining knowledge, while verifying online information and maintaining digital ethics.

The programme aimed to equip students with practical awareness to recognise cyber threats, adopt safe online practices and use technology responsibly. J&K Police reiterated its commitment to promoting cyber awareness and empowering the community, particularly young people, to stay safe and responsible in the digital world.
