JAMMU: A plantation drive was organised in front of the Brigadier Rajinder Singh MVC Boys’ Hostel at the Central University of Jammu. Inspired by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, several initiatives are being continuously undertaken for the development of the hostel and to promote environmental conservation.
Prof. Jain, who has consistently emphasised the protection of water, forests and land, observed that considering the geographical location and surroundings of the University, there is a pressing need to undertake plantation on a large scale. He encouraged all members of the University fraternity to actively participate in plantation drives and contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.
The plantation programme was carried out in the presence of Prof. Bharat Bhushan, Warden of the Hostel; Dr. Shashikant Mishra, Joint Warden; and Mr. Rakesh Kumar, CareTaker. The security personnel and students of the hostel also participated enthusiastically and contributed significantly to the plantation drive. The initiative reflected the Central University of Jammu’s continued commitment towards environmental conservation, sustainable development and the creation of a greener campus.
