JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raman Suri today seconded the ongoing crackdown against terrorism and anti-national propaganda networks in Jammu Kashmir, stating that alongside counter-terror operations, security agencies are also identifying and dismantling separatist ecosystems active on social media and internet platforms which is the need of hour. This he added will completely dismantle separatist network.

He said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Government of India has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and separatism. He maintained that elements spreading radicalisation, glorifying terrorism and attempting to mislead youth through digital platforms will face strict legal action as union government is determined to ensure complete peace, stability and normalcy across the Union Territory (UT).

He added that the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the youth, are rejecting violence and standing firmly with peace, tourism, development and progress. Raman Suri said that while terrorists are continuously being neutralised through well-planned operations by the Army, Police and paramilitary forces, another dangerous ecosystem spreading radicalisation, separatist ideology and anti-national propaganda through social media and internet platforms is also under strict surveillance.

He maintained that agencies are identifying and dismantling digital networks attempting to mislead youth, glorify terrorism and disturb peace in the region. Referring to the present security situation, Raman Suri said that white-collared elements trying to spread hatred against the nation or create unrest through online platforms will face strict legal action in accordance with law. He added that jihadi elements active on internet media are under the scanner of security agencies and every such attempt to poison the minds of the youth will be dealt with firmly and decisively.

The BJP leader said that public participation and trust-building measures are equally important in defeating terrorism permanently. He observed that the people of Jammu Kashmir, particularly the younger generation, are increasingly rejecting the ideology of violence and are supporting peace, development, tourism and economic progress. He added that this growing public confidence has significantly weakened separatist forces and strengthened the spirit of national integration across the region.

Raman Suri further said that security agencies have intensified operational preparedness ahead of the tourist season and the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra to ensure complete safety for pilgrims, tourists, traders and local residents. He appreciated the efforts of senior officers, including Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Army’s 15 Corps Commander Balbir Singh and DIG Shridhar Patil, for strengthening the security grid and enhancing intelligence-based operations in sensitive areas.

He added that extra vigilance is being maintained along the International Border and infiltration-prone areas of Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu and South Kashmir which means that the BJP government remains fully committed to safeguarding national unity and ensuring that Jammu Kashmir moves steadily towards lasting peace and prosperity.
