SRINAGAR: According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out Branch cutting and routine preventive maintenance work, the shutdown of 33KV Lassipora-Keegam line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Keegam, Gulshanabad, Mitrigam and Charipora shall remain off while the power supply to the Murran, Rahmoo, Mitrigam, Hall, Keegam, Rajpora, Gulshanabad, Akhal, Charipora, Pakherpora and Kamrazipora areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 23 November, 2024.

Similarly, in order to carry out laying of conductor for remained spans near Grid Station Awantipora and Laying of Cable Beneath Railway track in connection with Augmentation of conductor 0.05 ACSR to 0.1 ACSR of 33KV Awantipora-Airfield line, the shutdown of below mentioned lines shall be observed which will affect electricity to the given areas.

Also, shutdown of 33 KV Awantipora-Naroo line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Naroo and LIS Koil-II shall remain off while power supply to the Ratnipora, Lajoora, Naroo, Talangam and Uthoora areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM on 24 November, 2024.

Similarly, the shutdown of 33 KV Awantipora-Sangam Ist line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Marhama (pertainst to STD Bijbehara), Khedam (STD-Bijbehara), Sangam (STD-Bijbehara and Khellan shall remain off while the power supply to the Rakh Litter, Naina Batpora and Khellan areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM on 24 November, 2024.

Further, the shutdown of 33 KV Awantipora-Sangam-IInd line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at K-Koot and Panzgam shall remain off while the power supply to the Saimoh, K-Koot, Hariparigam, Kaigam, Chakoora, Gulzarpora, Panzgam, Railway and Panzgam Agriculture areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM on 24 November, 2024.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan. IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
