NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Ghulam Ali Khatana expressed profound grief over the demise of former MLA Choudhary Payara Singh, who passed away on December 2. Singh, a stalwart leader from the erstwhile Gandhi Nagar assembly constituency, was the father of Vikram Randhawa, a senior BJP leader and MLA from Bahu assembly constituency.

Paying homage to the late leader, MP Khatana highlighted Choudhary Payara Singh’s invaluable contributions to society and politics. He described Singh as a leader who worked tirelessly for the welfare of all sections of society, cutting across barriers of caste, creed, and religion.  “Choudhary Payara Singh’s passing is an irreparable loss to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. His unwavering dedication to public service and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him a beloved figure in the region,” Khatana said.

The BJP leader extended his heartfelt condolences to Vikram Randhawa and the bereaved family, praying for strength during this difficult time. Singh’s demise has left a void in the political and social fabric of Jammu and Kashmir, with leaders across the spectrum recalling his legacy of service and commitment.
