DODA: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh on Monday chaired a comprehensive meeting with members of the Hotel Association and other key stakeholders in Tourism. The session aimed to outline strategies for tourism promotion in the district, particularly through the Winter Festival, a signature event planned by the district administration to attract tourists and showcase Doda’s natural beauty, culture, and heritage.

The meeting covered a wide array of topics, with a primary focus on enhancing facilities and services for tourists.  The stakeholders attracted the attention of authorities towards various requirements, including upgrading of tourism infrastructure at potential destinations, improved road connectivity, and the need for high-quality accommodation and food services.

Additionally, the discussion highlighted the importance of preserving local ecology, managing waste, and promoting sustainable tourism practices.  Emphasis was placed on maintaining safety protocols and providing reliable information for tourists through updated digital platforms and brochures.

The DC stressed the significance of collaboration among the administration, hotel owners, and local businesses to make Doda a year-round tourist destination. He encouraged innovative ideas to showcase local art, cuisine, and handicrafts as part of the Winter Festival to support local artisans and businesses. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner assured all stakeholders of support in addressing their concerns, particularly by streamlining administrative processes and exploring partnerships to enhance tourist amenities.
