SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Virender Singh Manhas on Friday conducted a comprehensive security review of labour camps associated with the Katra-Amritsar-Delhi highway project. The inspection follows earlier security assessments at AIIMS facilities in the region.

The high-level security review was carried out with NHAI officials and representatives of the construction companies and focused on implementing robust safety measures to protect all workforce sections involved in the strategic Katra-Amritsar-Delhi highway project. The officials evaluated existing security protocols and infrastructure at various labour camp locations and also directed for immediate plugging of all existing loopholes.

"Our priority is to ensure foolproof security arrangements for all workers and personnel engaged in this vital infrastructure project," stated the Deputy Commissioner Samba.  Key aspects of the security review included assessment of physical security infrastructure, evaluation of existing safety protocols, review of emergency response procedures among others.

The administration remains committed to maintaining a secure working environment for all stakeholders involved in the successful completion of this significant infrastructure project.
