SRINAGAR: To mark the World Heart Day, the Jammu & Kashmir Dragon Boat Association organised an event at the world-famous Dal Lake, aimed at spreading awareness on the importance of physical activity for maintaining a healthy heart.

Under the theme “Every Paddle Strengthens Your Cardiac Rhythm,” dozens of paddlers participated in an early morning paddling session, demonstrating that regular exercise contributes to improved cardiovascular health. The sight of dragon boats gliding over the calm waters of Dal Lake, with Zabarwan hills in the backdrop, created an inspiring and picturesque scene for onlookers.

M S Punoo, President of the Association said that the event was intended to encourage people of all age groups to adopt healthy lifestyle practices, including regular physical activity. He said that on World Heart Day, the Association wants to convey that fitness can be both enjoyable and beneficial. Paddling is a simple yet powerful way to keep the heart active and strong.

The Association has plans to hold more activities in the future to inspire greater public participation and to showcase Dal Lake, as not only a tourist attraction but also as a natural venue for recreational and fitness-oriented sports.
