KUPWARA: In continuation of the Sewa Parv celebrations, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today inaugurated a free medical and screening camp under 'Swastha Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan' at SDH Kupwara. The event was attended by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Deputy CMO Kupwara, Medical Superintendent SDH Kupwara, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kupwara, DDC Members and the general public in large.

The camp, dedicated to women, adolescents, and children, provided free consultations, health check-ups, and screening services. Besides medical examinations, awareness sessions were conducted on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive healthcare practices. Specialized services included maternal and child care, screening for non-communicable diseases, and adolescent health counseling.

Addressing the gathering, DC stressed the Government’s commitment to delivering accessible, quality healthcare at the grassroots level. He underscored the importance of women’s health as a cornerstone for the well-being of families and communities and urged active public participation to ensure long-term benefits from such initiatives.

CMO Kupwara highlighted that similar health camps are being organized across all blocks of the district as part of the ongoing fortnight-long campaign set to conclude on October 2, 2025. He lauded the dedication of medical teams and assured comprehensive coverage to maximize outreach.

Earlier, simultaneous health camps were conducted at Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the district. Doctors and paramedical staff provided preventive and curative services to a sizeable number of beneficiaries, especially women and adolescents, demonstrating robust community involvement in the campaign.
