JAMMU: NCC and NSS Wings of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organised an awareness campaign under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to sensitise students about tuberculosis (TB), its prevention, early detection, and the importance of timely treatment. NCC cadets and NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign.
An informative speech and awareness presentation was delivered to highlight key aspects of tuberculosis, including its symptoms, modes of transmission, preventive measures, and the need to eliminate the stigma associated with the disease.
The participants were encouraged to spread awareness about TB and contribute towards the goal of a TB-free India. As part of the campaign, an oath was administered to all the participants and those present, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the TB Mukt Bharat initiative and creating greater awareness about tuberculosis in society.
The campaign provided an important platform for NCC cadets and NSS volunteers to understand their role as responsible youth ambassadors in promoting public health awareness and contributing towards the national goal of eliminating tuberculosis. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from the participants to actively disseminate information about TB and encourage people to adopt preventive and health- conscious practices.
