JAMMU: The People’s Hut Foundation (PHF), in a joint collaboration with the Department of Relief and Rehabilitation (M) J&K, successfully hosted a comprehensive "Free Multi-Specialty Medical Camp" today at the Samaj Sudhar Community Hall in Durga Nagar, Jammu. Designed to deliver high-quality, accessible healthcare to vulnerable populations, the initiative successfully served 162 patients, with a specialized focus on providing care to the elderly, women, and children in the region.

The camp was officially inaugurated by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr. Arvind Karwani, and Deputy Commissioner Relief, Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma. The ceremony was graced by several prominent dignitaries, including Sh. Kiran Wattal (Convenor, Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj), Sh. M.K Yogi (Senior K.P Leader), Padmashri Sh. Brij Lal Bhat, Sh. Ramesh Hangloo (MD, Radio Sharda), Sh. Anil Bhat (Bureau Chief, PTI), Prof. Sh. A.N Sadhu (President, Samaj Sudhar Committee), Sh. Shiban Dhar (Gen. Secy., Samaj Sudhar Committee), Sh. Kamal Ganjoo, Sh. Vinod Pandita, Prof. G.L Koul, and Vishal Jyotshi.

During his address, Chief Guest Dr. Karwani urged residents to fully utilize the available services. He noted that the overwhelming community response highlights a critical need to bridge the gap between specialized healthcare facilities and the communities that struggle to access them, assuring continued government support for future initiatives catering to the underprivileged.

Through a powerful collaborative effort, the local population was provided access to a wide array of specialist consultations. Comprehensive services included internal medicine and general physicians, orthopedics, dentistry, diagnostic testing, ophthalmology, and the distribution of free Ayush and allopathic medicines. The camp's massive success was heavily bolstered by the active participation of premier healthcare institutions. Sedna Super Speciality Hospital provided a specialist team headed by Dr. Kandy Koul, while True Faith Dental Clinic, under Dr. Prashant Verma, delivered expert dental services. Essential medicines were generously sponsored by Verse LifeSciences, headed by Mr. Vikas Koul. Comprehensive eye screenings were conducted by Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu, led by Deepak Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Tanvi, and Kulbir Kaur. Additionally, traditional wellness services were provided by the Directorate of Ayush J&K, under DAO Dr. Vandana Dogra, with a team led by Dr. Anjana Raina.

Mr. Muktesh Yogi, who coordinated the Medical Camp, highlighted that these on-ground initiatives serve as a core component of the foundation's "Mobile Health Clinic Program." This dedicated effort is aimed specifically at enhancing healthcare accessibility across Jammu & Kashmir.

Echoing this sentiment, Guest of Honor Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma emphasized that such endeavors provide immediate medical relief while simultaneously strengthening the bond and fostering trust between local communities and non-profit organizations. The dignitaries present jointly commended the on-site specialist consultations as a vital step toward overcoming geographical and financial barriers to quality care.

Concluding the successful event, Dr. Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of the People's Hut Foundation, acknowledged the deep humanitarian commitment of the organization. He noted that through its "Mobile Health Clinic Program" and robust community outreach, the NGO consistently strives to ensure education, holistic well-being, and accessible healthcare for all citizens living in underserved regions.
