SAMBA: A vibrant and impactful programme was organized today under the aegis of Poshan Project Samba to mark the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, a campaign focusing on the critical importance of healthy nutrition and balanced diet for the wellbeing of the community.

The special event was graced by District Programme Officer Poshan Project Rajesh Lakhan as the Chief Guest with enthusiastic participation from beneficiaries, healthcare professionals, and community members. Medical Officer Dr. Monika and her dedicated team lend their expertise and support to the nutrition awareness initiative.

The programme, themed around ā€œHealthy Nutrition and Balanced Diet,ā€ seamlessly blended health awareness with cultural celebration, creating an engaging and memorable experience for all attendees. The festivities featured a rich array of cultural performances including soul-stirring song performances dedicated to Poshan, vibrant dance presentations by beneficiaries of Poshan Project Samba, adding color and energy to the celebration. Recitation of poems, highlighting the importance of nutrition and an informative and entertaining skit on Poshan awareness added to the festive atmosphere, while effectively communicating the message of nutritional wellbeing to the community.

In a significant gesture toward holistic development, the programme included distribution of essential support material among the beneficiaries. School bags and academic kits were distributed to beneficiaries, reinforcing the project’s commitment to educational empowerment alongside nutritional support. Baby kits were presented to lactating mothers, emphasizing the crucial focus on maternal and child healthcare during the critical early years. These distributions reflect the comprehensive approach of Poshan Project Samba in addressing the multifaceted needs of families.

The 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebration at Samba underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to combating malnutrition and promoting healthy eating habits across all age groups. Through such community-centric initiatives, Poshan Project Samba continues to create awareness about balanced diets, proper nutrition and the foundation of a healthier society. The programme concluded with heartfelt expressions of gratitude to all participants, dignitaries, healthcare workers and beneficiaries whose collective enthusiasm made the event a resounding success.
