HANDWARA: In continuation of its sustained efforts to curb the menace of drugs and strengthen community engagement, Police in Handwara organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) cum Drug Abuse Awareness Programme at Maryum Memorial Institute, Pandithpora.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of parents, teachers, students, and law enforcement officers. The dual focus of the event was to review academic progress and to collectively address the pressing challenge of drug abuse in society.
During the awareness session, officers from Police, along with local community figures, sensitized participants about the harmful effects and long-term consequences of drug addiction. Interactive presentations, open discussions, and practical guidance sessions created a platform for parents and students to exchange views and strengthen their resolve against drugs. The initiative emphasized the importance of joint responsibility between schools, families, and law enforcement in shaping a healthy and drug-free environment.
At the conclusion of the programme, students were felicitated with gifts and prizes as a token of encouragement. Police reaffirmed its commitment to work closely with educational institutions and community stakeholders in spreading awareness, protecting youth, and ensuring a drug-free future.
