HANDWARA: In a meaningful effort to pay tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Police in Handwara organised a debate competition at Green Peace Public School, Bicherwara, Bright Career Educational School, Vilgam, and Higher Secondary School Haril Qalamabad. These events were aimed at promoting patriotism, civic responsibility, and awareness of India’s history among students.

These programmes witnessed active participation from a large number of students across various educational institutions. Participants shared their perspectives on Patel’s immense contribution to India’s freedom struggle, his visionary leadership, and his pivotal role in unifying the nation after independence. The debates also highlighted Patel’s commitment to justice, his strategic acumen, and his unyielding dedication to nation-building.

During the competition, students particularly emphasized Sardar Patel’s role in strengthening national integrity, fostering unity, upholding discipline, and demonstrating exemplary leadership. Their thoughtful arguments inspired the audience, encouraging young minds to appreciate the value of selfless leadership and the importance of collective responsibility in nation-building.

On the occasion, police officers addressed the gathering, motivating the youth to imbibe the ideals of Sardar Patel in their lives. They stressed the significance of student engagement in constructive activities that contribute to the progress of the nation. The officers also highlighted the ongoing role of police in promoting educational, patriotic, and community-oriented initiatives among the younger generation.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes to all participants and winners. Senior police officers appreciated the students for their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment, while also extending gratitude to the school administrations for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

This initiative is part of the J&K Police’s continued efforts to engage youth in meaningful activities, promote awareness of India’s history, and instil values of patriotism, discipline, and civic responsibility. Such events not only provide a platform for students to express their views but also encourage them to actively participate in nation-building endeavours.
