BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a series of awareness and community outreach programmes were organized across Budgam district on Tuesday, reaffirming District administration’s commitment towards building a drug-free society through active public participation.

At Higher Secondary School BK Pora, a seminar on drug abuse was organized in which students were sensitized about the harmful effects of substance abuse. The programme encouraged young participants to adopt healthy lifestyles and become ambassadors of a drug-free society by spreading awareness among their peers and communities.

In another significant initiative, officials of Sukhnag Forest Range organized a plantation drive-cum-awareness programme under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Zugo Panchayat. Participants were sensitized about the importance of protecting both the environment and society from harmful influences, highlighting the shared responsibility of citizens in promoting a healthy and drug-free future.

The day’s activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, officials, and members of the local community. Speakers emphasized the need for collective efforts, community vigilance, and sustained awareness to effectively combat the menace of drug abuse.

District Administration Budgam reiterated its resolve to continue organizing such awareness campaigns across educational institutions and public spaces, encouraging every citizen to contribute towards the vision of a healthier, safer, and drug-free Budgam under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
