SHOPIAN: In a decisive move to enforce regulatory compliance and safeguard public interest, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainapura, Bilal Ahmed today led a joint operation in collaboration with the Drug Control Authorities Shopian, resulting in the closure of four medical establishments, including a wholesale dealer.

The enforcement drive was undertaken to ensure adherence to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act), and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with specific focus on the maintenance of NRx Scheduled H1 records, implementation of new GST labelling, and compliance with GST rates.

The inspections revealed instances of non-compliance, including inadequate record-keeping, absence of computerized billing, and non-functional CCTV cameras, prompting immediate action. The SDM and Drug officer have underscored their commitment to upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance within the healthcare sector, emphasizing that such enforcement actions will continue unabated.

All medical establishments are advised to adhere strictly to the prescribed rules and regulations to avoid similar action, ensuring the protection of patients' interests and the integrity of the pharmaceutical supply chain. This enforcement drive was in line with the directions issued by Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, in the recent NCORD meeting.
