RAMBAN: Labour Department Ramban, under the supervision of Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Amit Kumar , on Saturday conducted two Awareness Cum Registration Camps at Panchayat Maitra Govindpora in village Tatarsoo and Khari. The Construction workers were sensitized about the various Labour laws viz Payment of wages Act, Employees Compensation Act, Child Labour Act, Contract Labour Act, JKBOCWW Act besides the Welfare Schemes of JKBOCWWB and Social Welfare Schemes like E shram, PMSYM, PMJJBY, PMSBY, Construction Workers Cess Act, 1996.
The ALC explained the process of Registration of Construction Worker under JKBOCWW Act and other schemes. At Khari, Officials of the Labour Department sensitized the attendees. IEC materials like Pamphlets were also distributed among the workers. Construction Worker raised various queries which were discussed and resolved on the spot. About 25 new registrations were approved in the camps who have already applied for the Labour Card. Renewals of labour cards were also done on the spot. The ALC said that such camps shall be conducted continuously in the District to increase the registration of leftout Construction Workers.
