AWANTIPORA: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, a series of awareness and anti drug activities were conducted across the Awantipora area. An awareness programme was organized at Iqra Public School, Mandoora, where students and staff were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug free life.

A similar awareness programme was conducted at Government Middle School, Androosa, focusing on preventive measures against substance abuse and encouraging students to act as ambassadors of a drug free society. An awareness programme was organized at Higher Secondary School, Charsoo, where participants were educated about the social and health consequences of drug addiction.

A pledge ceremony was also held, during which students and staff pledged to support the fight against drug abuse. Another awareness programme was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Panzgam, emphasizing community participation and youth engagement in eliminating the menace of drugs.

In continuation of anti-narcotics efforts, a bung destruction drive was carried out at Khankah Bagh, during which wild cannabis (bung) plants were identified and destroyed to curb the cultivation and spread of narcotic substances. These initiatives reflect the commitment of the J&K Police towards creating a drug free society and strengthening public awareness against the menace of drug abuse.
