ANANTNAG: In a significant move towards enhancing public awareness and community-police cooperation, J&K Police conducted a series of outreach programs across the district. These initiatives were aimed at educating students and the general public on critical issues including criminal law reforms, traffic safety, and police functioning.

As part of the campaign, awareness sessions were held on the newly implemented laws including Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023. These sessions focused on key reforms, changes from the previous laws, and how they impact the common citizen. Police officers and legal experts interacted with students and clarified their doubts through engaging discussions.

To mark the celebration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy and promote the ideals of unity and national integration, Anantnag Police also organized a unity Run. Students from various educational institutions across the district participated with great enthusiasm, echoing the message of communal harmony and collective responsibility.

Further, Police Station Visits were arranged for school students, allowing them a first-hand experience of police functioning. These visits aimed to bridge the gap between the police and the youth, fostering transparency and trust.

Moreover, Traffic Awareness Drives were conducted across multiple locations in the district. Police officials sensitized students, drivers, and pedestrians about traffic rules, safe driving practices, and the importance of road discipline. Informative pamphlets were distributed, and interactive sessions were held to enhance understanding. The programs witnessed active participation from students of various schools, who appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with police officials and gain valuable knowledge on legal and civic matters.
