BARAMULLA: As part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan”, an anti-drug awareness rally/programme was organised by Baramulla police in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association from Girls Higher Secondary School Dewan Bagh up to Khanpora Main Chowk, Baramulla.

Around 200–250 persons participated in the rally, including students, shopkeepers and local residents. The programme witnessed enthusiastic public participation with the objective of spreading awareness against the growing menace of drug abuse. During the programme, various speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drug addiction on society, particularly on the youth, and stressed the need for collective efforts to eradicate the menace from society.

Awareness was also created among the participants regarding the ill effects of substance abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life. J&K Police appreciates the efforts of the organisers and the active participation of the public in supporting the mission of a drug-free society.
