SHOPIAN: Continuing its sustained efforts to combat drug abuse and safeguard the future of youth, police in Shopian organized a series of impactful awareness programmes under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Awareness sessions were conducted at Government Middle School Tulran Imamsahib, Upper Primary School Batamurran Wanpora, AMI School Diaroo and Holly Faith Model School Berthipora, witnessing active participation from students and teaching staff. During the programmes, participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse, with emphasis laid on its physical, psychological, social and legal consequences. Students were encouraged to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and play an active role as ambassadors of change within their communities.

In addition, an anti-drug rally was organized at Zainapora in collaboration with the Civil Administration, aimed at spreading awareness among the general public regarding the menace of drug abuse and the collective responsibility to eradicate it from society.

Police reiterated its firm commitment to continue such awareness initiatives under the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, with the objective of building a safer, healthier and drug-free society.
