PULWAMA: Continuing its preventive measures under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police in Pulwama, in coordination with Revenue authorities, conducted a joint inspection drive in the jurisdiction of Police Post Rahmoo.

During the drive, shops located in the vicinity of Higher Secondary School Rahmoo were inspected to check the sale of cigarettes, tobacco products, and other prohibited items near educational institutions. Several shopkeepers found violating the provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) were fined on the spot and directed to strictly comply with the relevant legal provisions.

The drive was aimed at protecting students from the harmful effects of tobacco products and ensuring strict enforcement of laws intended to create a safe and healthy environment around educational institutions. Police remains committed to safeguarding public health and will continue such enforcement and awareness measures under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.
