RAMBAN: The IRP 16th Battalion, Ramban, today organized an impressive event under the Civic Action Programme (CAP 2025-26) at its Battalion Headquarters to strengthen community outreach and support local education initiatives.

As part of the event, educational kits containing school bags, notebooks, pens and other stationery items were distributed among the students of five schools from the Pernote area including Government High School Pernote, Government Middle School Thalwa, Government Mobile Primary School Pernote, Government Primary School Auxar Pernote and Government Primary School Sandhami. The initiative aimed at providing essential learning resources to students from remote and rural areas, thereby encouraging them to pursue academic excellence.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, local citizens and other respected members of civil society. In his address, the Commandant IRP 16th Battalion Sukhdev Raj emphasized that the initiative not only motivates students towards better academic performance but also helps in fostering stronger bonds and cordial relations between the Police and the student community. He added that providing educational support to children from economically weaker backgrounds will encourage them to pursue studies with greater enthusiasm.

While welcoming the gathering, Dy. SP, MA Jaral highlighted the importance of such community-oriented programmes. The programme concluded successfully at the Battalion Headquarters and was widely appreciated by the students, teachers and local community members.
