DODA: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh organized a vibrant event titled “Run for Vande Mataram” to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the iconic national song Vande Mataram.

The event was held under the guidance of Prof. Koshal Mangotra, Principal of the College. The event was aimed at fostering a spirit of unity, national pride and fitness among students and staff while also promoting the objectives of the Fit India Movement.

The Run for Vande Mataram witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty and non-teaching staff, who collectively expressed their love and devotion for the nation through their active involvement.

Later, a mass recitation of Vande Mataram was held, where participants joined their voices in harmony, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotic fervour and unity. The entire campus resonated with the powerful verses of the song, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and the cultural pride it embodies.

Earlier, the event commenced with a motivational address by Principal, Prof. Koshal Mangotra, who emphasized the significance of Vande Mataram as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and national identity.

The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Arjun Singh (PTI) and Dr. Anupam Lata. The celebration served as an inspiring reminder of the timeless message of Vande Mataram, promoting both physical well-being and emotional connection to the nation’s glorious heritage.
