BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), awareness and enforcement activities were carried out across District Budgam today to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and illicit cultivation of narcotic substances. The Excise Team Budgam, in coordination with the Revenue Department and Police, conducted a special destruction drive at village Ganiepora Kawoosa in Tehsil Narbal.

In another activity, the Excise Team conducted an extensive survey and awareness programme at village Nunar in Tehsil Khansahib. Farmers and local residents were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Posters carrying anti-drug messages were displayed at prominent locations, and awareness material was distributed among the public.

The programmes witnessed encouraging public participation, with locals expressing support for the campaign and reaffirming their commitment to preventing drug abuse and discouraging illicit cultivation.

The District Administration Budgam reiterated its commitment to sustained awareness, preventive interventions and coordinated enforcement under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, urging citizens to actively support the mission of building a healthy and drug-free society.
