THATHRI: Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal and under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Dr Vinod Sharma, the Malaria Wing from the Office of CMO, in collaboration with the local Block Medical Office, conducted an extensive anti-malaria spraying drive across Thathri Town, today.

The initiative was undertaken as a preventive public health measure following the flash floods that affected the area approximately a week ago. The drive aimed to minimize the risk of vector-borne diseases by eliminating mosquito breeding and improving environmental sanitation.

Spraying operations were carried out in market areas, government offices, public places and residential localities to safeguard the health of the community and prevent the spread of malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases.

The Health Department reiterated its commitment to protecting public health through timely preventive measures and appealed to the general public to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, avoid water stagnation and cooperate with the health teams during such drives.

The department also assured that surveillance and preventive activities will continue in the affected areas to ensure the well-being of the residents and to mitigate any potential public health risks in the aftermath of the floods.
