UDHAMPUR: Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Prem Singh today chaired a meeting of the District Task Force to review preparations for the upcoming Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation 2026 campaign in the district.

During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed arrangements related to booth management, the deployment of vaccination teams, the coverage of transit sites, logistics and cold chain management. Emphasising the importance of achieving 100 percent coverage of all children below five years of age, he directed officers to ensure that no eligible child is left out and that the district continues to remain polio-free.

Prem Singh also stressed the need to intensify awareness activities, particularly in remote and high-risk habitations as well as transit points, to ensure maximum participation and coverage. He impressed upon all line departments to work in close coordination and contribute towards the successful implementation of the national immunisation programme. Further, he instructed the departments concerned to deploy special monitoring teams and ensure daily reporting for effective supervision and timely resolution of issues during the campaign.

Earlier, Chief Medical Officer Udhampur Dr Anil Manhas gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the micro-plan, the availability of vaccine stocks and the training status of field staff. He informed the meeting that fixed booths, mobile units and door-to-door teams would be deployed to cover every eligible child during the IPPI round.
