RAMBAN: Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak today visited the remote areas of Tehsil Pogal-Paristan and inspected the functioning and infrastructure of Government Higher Secondary School Pogal and Government PM Shri Higher Secondary School Maligam.

During the visit, the ADC conducted a comprehensive review of the schools' infrastructure, availability of teaching and non-teaching staff, student enrolment, academic functioning and other institutional requirements. He interacted with school authorities and staff and directed the authorities concerned to identify and communicate infrastructural and administrative requirements for timely redressal.

As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the ADC led mega awareness programmes at both schools, addressing students, teachers and local residents. He highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and stressed the collective responsibility of society in creating a drug-free environment. The ADC urged the youth to stay away from substance abuse and actively participate in sports, education and other constructive activities, while calling upon teachers, parents and community leaders to play a proactive role in identifying and preventing drug abuse among young people.

The programmes witnessed participation from students, staff and locals, who pledged support to the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign. Among those accompanying the ADC were Tehsildar Pogal-Paristan Nasir Javed, Tehsildar Headquarters Reejuta Mahajan and other officers concerned.
