• Initiatives aims to promote good governance through Peace Education

POONCH: District Admin Poonch in collaboration with Rawat Foundation has organised a five-day Peace Education Program (PEP) for government officials to promote good governance.  The event has been hosted here at Krishan Chander Memorial Government Degree College. The program aims to promote human values, self-awareness and inner peace among government officials from different departments.

The program was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner   Tahir Mustafa Malik, who emphasized the importance of human dignity in public service. “When we understand our own dignity, we can understand the dignity of others. It is through this understanding that we practice human values. The facilitators of the program Poonam Sherawat and Dr. Avinasha Sharma informed that the Peace Education Program is available on the SWAYAM Plus portal of the Ministry of Education. ”The participants can earn two academic credits upon successful completion of the course. Poonam Sherawat explained that the program is being delivered through engaging video-based workshops centered on ten themes: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Choice, Dignity, Hope and Contentment.
